Swap Meet Highlights

This past Saturday we set up a booth at the annual school swap meet and e-waste fundraiser. It was another successful year of this fundraiser that the school had to raise money for field trips, school supplies and yearly school functions.

The swap meet brought in $210 from the seller’s spaces and the e-waste truck was filled to the brim with recycled electronics and more. Sellers at the swap meet came out showcasing holiday items, handmade crafts and lots and lots of different household goodies. It started off a bit brisk in the morning, but with the 6th graders selling hot coffee in their booth to raise funds for science camp, we kept warm until the sun came out.

Our booth featured many of our vintage and antique items as well as a variety of our collectibles and everyday household goodies. We did fairly well and we were able to do a little bit of networking, handing out brochures and business cards to some potential new clients and introducing our business to those in the community. I think building up a local following is just as important as a national one since local shoppers might not have to pay for shipping. We surprisingly didn’t purchase any new inventory from any of the other sellers but there is a possibility we may have some new consignment customers.

Etsy Shoppe Sharing

This week, it’s back to listing some inventory spreading it out between our eBay store and filling up our Etsy store. Today, we thought we’d feature a couple of items from our Etsy store. We’re still getting used to the world of Etsy, it seems to be a little different atmosphere than eBay. We did have our first Etsy sale last week and I’m hoping with the research I’ve done on Etsy, the more we list, the more our items will be seen. Our Etsy store doesn’t cater to just one type of item or person, we feel a little bit of variety for everyone is good.

I love the missions too. Especially this one. I’m really hoping to come across some more in our search through his photographs.

Thank you for inviting me to sell at the Swap Meet. I met tons of great people and sold sooooo many items. Took home less than 1/4 of the items I originally brought to sell. Hope to do another one with you soon. Keep me posted.
